18 Month Checkup

Isn't he just the cutest?

Banastre had his 18 month checkup yesterday. (He's almost 19 months now!!) Here are the stats:

Height: 31 inches (10-25%)

Weight: 23 pounds (10-25%)

Head: HUGE!

So, my baby is smaller than most of the other kids his age and has a really big head. They didn't write down what the circumference was, but I think around 50cm. Hopefully that is proof of how big his brain is and how smart he is. He actually did really good at the doctor's office. He impressed her by singing "hot dog, hot dog, hot diggiggiggiggg dog" from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. (And yes, this is exactly how he says it :) ) He only received one shot, and with some tylenol and mini m&m's he didn't cry at all. He whimpered right when she put the needle in, but then stopped to grab more chocolate!! That's MY boy!!!!!

Second Grade

All ready in her uniform!!!
Cheesing it up with Daddy!!! There's no way they could teach Ms. Know It All anything about Dinosaurs!!!
Banastre, Mickey, and Minnie telling her bye.
"Classic School Girl"

Today is Elizabeth's first day of Second Grade. She seemed to be very excited this morning when they left for school. She will be riding the bus home today, for the very first time. Mommy and Daddy are a little nervous, but she is so excited. Banastre has his 18 month check up this afternoon, so I am really hoping to be here before the bus comes. If not Matt will be waiting on her.
I can't believe my little angel is really in the second grade. It still feels like it was only yesterday that we were on our way home from the hospital with her. Now, she is learning so much and growing and changing in ways that I never thought possible. We really didn't know if either of us would make it through my pregnancy with her. Now, just look at her!! To me, she is the most beautiful and amazing little girl. She is incredibly smart (it's almost scary), incredibly talented (dancers of the world watch out!), and incredibly loving. I thank God every day for my little angel!!!!!

Two of a Kind

Just a few picks I took this weekend with the kids. Banastre doesn't really stay still long enough to lay down and be sweet with Elizabeth. So, I took these as fast as I could.

(We have been debating a hair cut for Ban Man. Matt said no, I said yes. These were before the hair cut. In the post above you can see we made a compromise and at least got the hair out of his eyes.)

A New Friend

Elizabeth has a new friend, Trinity. She lives next door (well, at least that is where she sleeps...I think she lives here now!) Trinity and her family just moved here from Colorado. She will be in the first grade and her birthday is actually very close to Elizabeth's original due date. The girls love each other to death and are very happy to have a friend so close. Even Banastre has really taken to Trinity and calls her T.T. These pictures were taken as they finished with their fashion show and both were crowned winners!! (Kudos to Daddy who printed out the crowns and helped the girls make them!!!!!!! He earned the label of Best Daddy Ever!!!)

FROGGIE

Last week we found this out on the lanai. Being the supercool mom that I am, I caught it for the kids to look at. We watched the "froggie" for a few minutes before we let him go in the bushes behind the house. The kids loved it and Banastre even told it bye as he chased it away!

Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles Everywhere!!

I had really hoped this post would be a video of the the space shuttle that launched last night. The last time one launched we could see it clearly from our clubhouse. Unfortunately, last night was very cloudy and hazy. All we were able to see was a bit of the smoke cloud behind the shuttle. The first time we saw a shuttle launch, I forgot my camera. Last night I had it with me...so maybe next time I will have perfect weather and my camera so I can share the pics and video with you!

So, instead of the shuttle I give you BUBBLES. I found this great bubble machine and the kids have been loving it. We go out on the lanai and have lots of fun with the bubbles! As you can see in the pictures!

A Kitty in the House

During this summer, the Legend's Clubhouse has had children's activities to keep them busy. Last week was carnival week. They had a person come in and teach the kids how to do face painting and then painted each child's face. Elizabeth chose to become a kitty. I think it turned out beautifully. We had dinner at Disney this same night and it was amazing at all of the comments that she received. She even had one Cast Member talk to her about it! She was so proud and acted like a kitty all day!

Just Plain Goofy

Loving my Goofy!

THIS is how much I love him!!

Banastre's obsession at the moment is still with Goofy. He must watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 5 times a day. Then, at bedtime, he puts both Goofy dolls in his bed, makes Mommy, Daddy, and Sissy all kiss Goofy as we are kissing him goodnight. He then goes to sleep holding all three of his dolls. It's very sweet.

I don't remember Elizabeth being attached to anything like this when she was 18 months old. It really proves that every child is different!
