Cast Off

No, we aren't playing Survivor. Banastre had his cast removed today!!!! We are so excited!!! Banastre is still not comfortable without the cast there. He had gotten so good at walking and running with the cast on. Dr. Ray said it may take a few days before he is comfortable enough to try walking on his leg. This afternoon, he did pull himself up and stand on it a few times, but every time he put all of his weight on it he would cry. Thankfully,we were finally able to take a bubble bath!! Banastre hated his showers and was quite tired of his sponge baths! He played in the tub tonight for thirty minutes before his leg started bothering him.
Dr. Ray also said the x-rays looked wonderful and you couldn't even tell that his leg had ever been broken! We are all very thankful for his complete healing!!!

Easter

Playing with the new Bubble Machine! There;s an egg Sissy!

I got this one.

I have no clue of what I was thinking Sunday, but I got no pics of Elizabeth and Banastre together. We had a wonderful meal at Sue and Reg's and then enjoyed an egg hunt. It was lots of fun.

We were at home in time to watch the Carolina game though!

Easter Eggs and Baskets

Here's our dyed eggs...any broken ones are compliments of Banastre as he "gently placed" them in the cups.
This picture was taken before Banastre decided to sit beside the cups of egg dye and drop the colored water on his cast!
The Easter Bunny Brought us our Baskets!!!!
Banastre and his quarters and pennies. "Open chocolate please Mommy!!
Elizabeth with her Magnetic Paper Dolls. (Sorry I forgot to flip it, just turn your head sideways :) )

On Saturday, after Elizabeth's dance class, we hit Mini Golf with Aunt Jemina and Uncle Art who came to Florida for Easter. This time we went to Disney's Fantasia Fairways. This course is a replica of a golf course. There were sand traps, water hazards, no edging so you could roll into the "rough", and lots of other challenges. It was hard, but a lot of fun. Hopefully, we will go again so Mommy can work on her score!!!

A Few Cute Pics

I love his smile!!!!
Banastre: "Mommy, say CHEESE!!"
Mommy: "OK Banastre, but you say Cheese too.)

Pig on the Pond

Pig on the Pond

Elizabeth's dance group performed this weekend at a festival here in Clermont called Pig on the Pond. I tried to get video of "Bang". I didn't have a great spot (watch out for that pole!!!), but you can still see the dance. Once again, the girls did a great job and I am so proud of Elizabeth!! You can't even tell that she has huge blisters on both of her feet while performing. She is such a true performer!

First Dance Competition of the Season

On Saturday, Elizabeth performed in her first dance competition of the season. This time, she competed in two dances, Bang and Hairspray. "Bang" is the mini's class and "Hairspray" is a production number including all of the mini's and petites. Both dances went very good!!!!!

Bang received a High Gold score and Hairspray received a PLATINUM! In the overall mini's division Bang took Second place overall and Hairspray took first place overall for all 5-8 year olds!!!! We are all proud of Shooting Stars and the great job everyone did this weekend. Elizabeth is ecstatic about receiving her first platinum and we couldn't be any more proud of her!

If you would like to see the photos from the dances, you can go to http://www.take2ok.com/ . Click on View Photos online, then Dance Competitions, then Star Systems 08, then the competition on Lakeland, FL. Then click on dance 268 for Bang and 269 for Hairspray. Our favorite pics of Elizabeth are from Hairspray and have the numbers 8430 and 8444. There are lots of others with her in them, so have fun looking through them all.

We are now concentrating on the next competition in Tampa March 29-31!

The New Cast

On Thursday Banastre went to see the Orthopaedic doctor again. They removed his blue cast, which scared Banastre quite a bit. I really wish the saw they use was more quiet! Next, they
x-rayed his leg to see how it is healing. Luckily it is healing very quickly. The doctor did think we would be better off putting another cast on and waiting two more weeks before allowing him to "run" loose again. So, we now have a Glow-in-the-Dark Dinosaur. He thinks it is pretty cool (and so does Mom, Dad, and Elizabeth)!
Just keep your fingers crossed that the "dinosaur" will be gone for good on the 13th! Banastre's little knees are red and bruised from all of his crawling and he even had a blister on his hand today that popped! This afternoon and evening he has tried walking with the cast. He can navigate around pretty well as long as he has something or someone to hold on to.
