It's Good to Know People

Matt and I have a friend that works for Disney. One night in the hot tub he casually mentions that Disney is hosting a fireworks convention and will be dong special fireworks on the next Saturday night. Not many people know, Jason said. So, we decide we should really go check these out. It's the same night as the carnival I talked about below. The kids were tired, but we decided to hit Magic Kingdom for a few rides and then find us a spot to watch the fireworks. After our usual rides, we headed over to Disney's Polynesian Resort to find us a spot on the beach. Things started out really good. Not many people, but we are an hour early. Found a great spot. Watched the floating electrical parade out on the lake. Kids played in the sand. By the time the fireworks started (20 minutes late), there had to be over a thousand people crowding the tiny beach at the Poly. The smart Tarleton's we are though, we let the kids play in a huge area in front of us. We didn't encourage quiet or sitting still and guess what...no one sat in front of us. We had our own little section of the beach.
The fireworks were amazing. Supposedly this is the most Disney has ever spent on fireworks and it showed. There huge fireworks going off of the main island in Seven Seas Lagoon, smaller ones being launched from an island in front of the Contemporary. It was an amazing show!!! I won't bore you with all the pics I took, but there were some firework designs we had never seen before. We loved the spirals and the blue Mickey heads. We just hope next time Disney does this, maybe it will stay quiet! The place was absolutely packed!!

Clubhouse Carnival

We had a carnival at our clubhouse a few weeks back. (I know, I know, I'm a slack blogger!) The kids had a wonderful time. They both rode the horse, played tons of carnival style games, won lots of prizes, jumped in the bounce house for looooonnnnnggggg periods of time, and then had hot dogs to eat. I was very nervous to let Banastre jump in the bounce house after having had a broken leg, but he did wonderful and enjoyed it very much. As you can tell from the last picture the kids were both hot and tired when it was time to go!!!

A Day at MK...Just B and Me

Yesterday, Banastre and I visited Magic Kingdom. He's still having a hard time adjusting to Elizabeth being in school. Usually around 11:00 everyday he decides it's time to go get sissy and that's all I hear until 3:00 when we get her. So, I decided to try and keep his mind off of it with some fun. These pics are out of order, but I we rode Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World, the Carousel, Goofy's Barnstormer, Indy Speedway, Buzz Lightyear Space Rangers, and the TTA all in about two hours. Don't tell anyone, but the crowds were almost non-existent. We walked on to every ride we wanted to do. Needless to say, he never once asked for his sister and was completely out before we made it back to the monorail. It's too warm here to be fall, so this helped me get in the mood! Trying to shoot aliens and take down Evil Emperor Zurg.
Happy on the TTA.

Making kissy faces at Mommy.
He has to ride the roller coaster.
This was his first time ever riding Indy Speedway. Now he can be just like Daddy and his race car!!
Really getting into driving!

I love Ghosts!
Banastre says: "Spooky"
Sing along with me for the rest of the day...It's a small world after all, It's a small world after all..
The only Americans represented during the entire ride.

Read his shirt....I think I did find his "off button"So sweet and sooooo tired.
I enjoyed it tremendously. It's great to be able to stop and see everything through his eyes. He chose all of the rides himself and we really enjoyed ourselves. I can't wait to go to the next park with him and see what we can find there. Although I know we will be back at MK again, we never made it to the Pooh play area.

Igloo in Florida

Banastre's inflatable Diego ball pit popped a month ago. (I don't think it had anything at all to do with the fact that he would run and jump inside! Really!) Both kids fell in love with this tent at Ikea this weekend. It's taken over the dining room. It has already been used as a ball pit, a clubhouse (Don't forget the secret word), a place to hide from dinosaurs and just a favorite hangout. Who knew that $9.99 could provide them with hours of entertainment? It's priceless for me...it also gives Mommy time to get stuff done!

A New look

Ok, just trying out a new look! Let me know what you think!!! Several new posts below....enjoy

A two Week Safari and an Archaeologists Dream

Since school has started back, Banastre has really been missing his sissy. I'm about sick of going to Chick-fil-a so he can play. So, Thursday we jumped in the car and ran over to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Our first stop was Kilimanjaro's Safari. We took a two week trip through Africa. We saw lots of animals...

Elephants
White Rhino
Can't remember this ones name.

We also saw hippos, ostriches, lions, a mandrill monkey, boars, giraffes and lots of different cattle.

Our trip got cut short when we had to catch some poachers, so we ended up going to Dino land. This is a little archaeologists dream land. Banastre rode Triceratops Spin for the first time. (Think Dumbo, but with triceratops instead.)
Then we found the Dino Dig area. Here we enjoyed spelunking in numerous slides, excavating a triceratops skeleton in the dig zone, and stomping our way around the footprints that made each animals noise when you stomped on them.
We both had a lot fun and can't wait to explore more areas together while Elizabeth is at school. I think next week we may hit Magic Kingdom for some one on one fun!

Blackmail

Yes, this is my son with his hair pulled up WITH a blue scrunchie and looking too much like a girl. They decided they wanted to take a "fun" bath (no hair washing required), so this is what happened. *Maybe I should get his hair cut soon!*
